While we get great views of the setting sun year round, our views for the spring may be the most spectacular. Almost a direct line of site from the main house to across the docks. Well, look for yourselves. The pictures are better than our words could ever be.

Of course during winter, we don’t do much to our garden areas but spring is just around the corner and with the opening of our inn coming up as well, we will be planting soon. Fortunately, we have some well maintained areas between the suites and main house that we may only tweak a little. Here’s some shots of that area (as well as the swimming pool!):

One of the main gardening project will be an organic vegetable garden. There is no infrastructure for that however so it will be more work. In the picture below, there is a field to the left of the long drive to the inn and that is where we will grow our veggies:

A Barred Owl that’s who. We spotted one the other day at the entrance to our drive. It perched in the location we first spotted it for at least a couple hours. Long enough for us to come back, grab a camera and snap some photos. Here is the best one:

Thank God for our National Audubon Society’s book on North American birds. We are spotting so many interesting birds around here.
