One of the big challenges in getting the upstairs rooms of the Billups house in order was getting bathrooms for each room as opposed to the sharing of a single bathroom that used to be the case. For two of the 3 rooms, we were able take the existing bathroom, remodel it and attach the second bathroom off of the plumbing from the first. For the third however, we had to start from scratch. We extended the pantry room below and built the new bathroom above it. This is the result:

We’ve been very busy this past month. We had the mad dash to get the main house (Billups House) ready for the Tour de Chesapeake as we were booked solid and we have had many guests since then plus we are still working on getting the new kitchen up and running. WHEW!!

Yesterday we were proud to be a part of the Mathews County History House Tour sponsored by the Mathews Historic Society. Over 200 people entered through our front door into the main house.

The mirror on the wall to the left got lots of attention as did the desk built by Lori’s grandfather in 1913. Four more years and it is officially an antique! Well have pictures soon showing the renovations we did to the upstairs as well as some before shots for comparison.
