What would green renovating a bed and breakfast be if we didn’t get new Energy Star rated windows? Well that’s been our latest project and we’ve had a LOT of windows to replace. Older houses like our inn were not designed with the energy saving techniques widely in use today. They are often drafty which causes greater waste of energy to keep the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Owning a B&B is great. Owning one on the water is even better!

Why?

Seafood! Most notably the biggest oysters we’ve ever seen when we hosted a small oyster roast for friends the other day. We’ll let the pictures tell the story:

We can’t get by without them. The help from friends has been indispensable. Recently we had a visit from our friends from back in North Carolina Frank and Susannah Tuttle. We lured them in with the charm of our Inn:
