Recently we put together a presentation on green building and remodeling for a series of events here in Mathews on the environment. It was well received and fun to put together. It was held at the Methodist church of Mathews. We want to take this opportunity to also thank our friend and builder Michael Swiderski for his help not just with this presentation but will all the help he has given in our remodeling efforts.

With the suites completed, we can now focus all of our attention on the main house and the projects still in the works there. Immediately upon entering the front door, the first room on the right is going to be our office. Much of the day to day work once we have finished the renovations will be done from there. We’re still working on it but here’s a few looks at the work in progress:

Well we hope this goes over better than New Coke. A couple of people have stated an interest in staying in the “Coke room” but we here are thankful that that option is no longer available. We have finished our renovations in what is now called the Tabb’s room and we couldn’t be happier.

Now for the big unveiling!302

It has been so great having various family members come up to not just visit and see out inn but to help out as well. Today, we want to give a HUGE thank you to Sue and Winston Fowler (Greg’s mom and stepfather) for all they have done in helping us get projects done around here.

THANK YOU!

Here’s some photos of Sue and Winston in action:

Another of the suites we have completed is the Chesapeake suite (formerly known as the Roman Holiday room). Like the East River suite in the post below, we are very happy with the results. It was a lot of hard work but we want to start our new enterprise with a fresh new look all around.

Check it out!:

We are taking a brief vacation from the daily up at dawn, work until past dusk that has been our life for the past few months. So in the meantime, we’re going to give you this view of the main house as taken from the pier.
